Translation: César Itier
Through his skillful weaving of narrative, Meneses Lazón preserves his heroes' irrepressible individuality. His approach to the Quechua language is resolutely modern : his aim is first to preserve the expressiveness of the language. Thus, this small bilingual volume offers an experience that is not only literarily fulfilling, but also linguistically innovative.
César Itier is a lecturer at the National Institute of Oriental Languages and Civilizations. He is the author of several books on oral tradition and theater in the Quechua language, editions of Quechua documents from the 16th and 17th centuries and articles devoted to the religions of ancient Peru.
